Matt Moehring

Matt began his walk with Christ at age fifteen when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized at his home church, Faith Baptist Church, in Starkville, MS. Matt and his family are a wonderful testimony of God’s grace and His faithfulness.

Matt earned an Associate’s Degree in Christian Ministry from Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013. He and his wife, Ginger, have been married for over 30 years. They have recently relocated to Caledonia. Their daughter, Ashleigh, and her family live in Louisville, MS.

Matt was a faithful and active member of Kolola Springs Baptist Church from January1995 until October 2003. He then began a life of service in bi-vocational ministry in 2003. He served six years as the Youth Minister and one year as the Associate Pastor at New Salem Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS. In 2010, the Lord led Matt to become the first pastor of The Way Community Church (Winston Baptist Association) in Louisville, MS where he served faithfully until 2016. He and Ginger moved back to Columbus in 2017.  Matt faithfully served as the pastor of Community Baptist Church until March 2021. The Lord led Matt to serve as the Minister of Education and Senior Adults at East End Baptist Church in Columbus from April 2021 until May 2022. God began stirring in Matt’s heart the desire to return to pastoring and preaching over the last several months. He has most recently been preaching at First Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS. We are grateful for the availability Matt and Ginger will have to minister to the needs of our church family. They have hearts to advance the Gospel and to be active in reaching out to our community. They are beyond excited by the opportunity to come back to serve a church family and community they consider very dear to them.
